Nicki: When Shit Gets Real

I laid in bed staring into the wall as if I could see through it. I didn't move or say anything when he got in bed and held me close. I knew he wanted to know, but I wasn't ready to talk about it at the moment. He kissed my cheek then hugged me tighter as I cried. Marquez lied to me and went out of his way to get what he wanted from me.

"I.. I.. I.."

"Macy, she didn't know you."

"Oh.."

Her small round face looked up at me and frowned. She looked just like me and I didn't see it at first. She had Quez's gray eyes and lips. She had my dimples and round face. Macy crawled into her lap and held on to the side of her face.

"Don't cry Mommy, I'm right here! Aren't you happy to see me?"

"I'm surprised to see you."

"Why?"

"Cause I didn't know you were even in this world."

"Can I come home with you?"

"Uh, I don't think so."

"Daddy said when you found out I was here you would want me!"

She huffed looking upset. Nicki didn't know what to say or do. She just held on to her tight and cried. Marquez picked her up and she too began to scream and cry.

"NO! MOMMY!"

"Macy got play with Maddy and we'll come get you before she leaves."

"NO! I WANT TO STAY WITH MY MOMMY."

She kicked and screamed until his wife came out of her room. She instantly closed her mouth then walked into a room. Quez came back to see Nic staring at her. Bitch, probably abusing my baby!

"Nic!"

"She knows I'm her mother? How?"

"I told her and I showed her pictures of you when my wife wasn't around."

"Why? How? I thought?"

"That's what I need to tell you."

"I'm listening because I'd really like to fucking know what the fuck is going on?"

"My wife wanted light skin children, but all we had were light brown kids and that wasn't enough for her."

"I mean the bitch is black as fuck and you're light skin of black and white parents, so..."

"Listen, I was only suppose to impregnat you then pay you off for the baby, but you lost the first one then started taking birth control and along those lines I fell in love with you."

"WAIT, so you were using me because your bitch wants a light skin baby, but she fucked my man, Brim behind your back? Where the fuck is your bitch's logic! And I wouldn't have sold my baby to you crazy fucking cunts!"

"Nic, let me finish before you get too hyped."

"Yes, so how did you possibly get Macy because I don't remember pushing out twins or getting pregnant again."

"Remember when I had you donate four of your eggs? Well I sorta went behind your back and got them released, so that our hired surrogate mother could have your, our, child."

"YOU SICK FUCKING FUCK! YOU WANT TO PLEASE THAT BITCH SO MUCH YOU WENT THROUGH ALL THAT WHEN YOU COULD OF JUST BEEN UP FRONT WITH ME FROM THE BEGINNING?"

"NO TWO YEARS! TWO! YOU RAISED MY CHILD TO KNOW ME, THINK I DON'T WANT HER OR LOVE HER WHEN ALL REALTY YOU AND YOUR SICK WIFE ARE SUCH TASTELESS BASTARDS!"

"Baby!"

"DONT FUCKING BABY ME! I'M SUING YOU AND THAT BITCH! FUCK YOU AND WHATEVER YOU FUCKING FELT FOR ME CAUSE IT DAMN SURE WASN'T REAL ENOUGH FOR YOU TO TELL ME THIS EARLY! SICK FUCK!"

"But Nic you said you didn't want my baby! Remember? You wanted to abort her!"

"THAT ISN'T THE SAME BABY YOU FUCKING ASS WIPE! I REALLY.....!"

Nicki pushed back from the table with her eyes flooded. She pushed past his wife as she raced out the door. I need air. Space. Time. Faree.

She cried in SB's arms the next morning when she told him what happen. He looked to be thinking a mile a second, but didn't say anything just comforted her until she fell back to sleep.

Twenty minutes she woke up to her phone ring like crazy. She picked it up to hear Macy's small voice boom through the phone. She quickly sat up and tugged SB out of his sleep. He sat up looking down at the smile on her face as he heard the voice of a small girl.

"Mommy when you coming to get me?"

"I don't know baby, I have to talk to someone special about you coming over."

"Who? Santa Claus? Tell him I've been good all year and all I ask him every year is for you."

She listened to Marquez tell her what to say in the back ground. She heard her cry as the phone call drop.
"She sound like an angel."

"She's three."

"She sounds about five."

"I know bitch probably over there being mean to my baby!"

"Damn, I thought I was your baby?"

SB asked looking hurt. She smiled looking at his sad face. She faced him pecking his lips and sucking on his bottom lip.

"You are, my big baby."

"So she your little baby?"

"Yes."

"Do you want her?"

"Of course I do, she's mine and they just...."

"Baby, don't cry, we'll get her back some how even if you got to go to court."

"You still want to be with me even..."

"I'm not leaving you at all and not over something a dumb ass nigga did to you unwillingly. I'm here for you and whatever you want."

She held tight to him as they talked about what she should do the legal way or without the law.

Nicki and Faree sat in a hard wood booth near the window as they waited for Marquez and his wife, Lily An. She had downed three cups of water in thirty minutes as if she was in the desert. He looked at her sipping on her fourth water. I'm a wreck the man I was sleeping with and his wife in the same room as my baby. GOD help me! She closed her eyes and silently prayed that everything went down smoothly.

"Sorry we're late, had to drop the kids at their school."

"That's okay. I'm SB her boyfriend."

"I'm Lily, his wife."

"Sup, I'm Quez"

He eyed SB which caused Nic to gulp louder than she thought. They sat in silence for awhile until Lily spoke up in her heavy accent.

"You want you baby back?"

"Yes, I do."

"You can have her back for 10gs."

"Bitch, you STOLE her from me!"

"No I got it..."

"Bitch my eggs weren't for you, your husband told you wrong! I donated mine for a lady with cancer!"

"Ladies Ladies Chill.. Nic, baby, I love you and you know that, but I can't let her go that easy."

"Oh? Why not because you need a little bitch around the house that looks like her!"

Lily pointed to Nic as she stared him in the face. He didn't say anything. Awww, he wants something to remember me by cause after this it's fuck him!

"Neeki we give you back Macy, but you broke my family and I hope you burn."

She stated looking me in my face then stormed out. Quez didn't even move to follow her. He sighed then spoke in a low voice.

"Just let me keep her for two more years then she's all yours. You can now just visit whenever just let me know."

"I guess that can work because I need to..."

"WE need time to adjust to having her around."

Nicki smiled at him correcting her. He held tight to her hand and squeezed it a little. I love him so much!
